While the needs of artists continue to evolve, so too must the structures designed to support them. This discussion considers how residencies can expand, adapt, and innovate to better foster experimentation and long-term creative development. Bringing together leaders and practitioners deeply engaged in residency models, Chiwoniso Kaitano (Executive Director of MacDowell), Kate Fowle (Director, Arts Program at Hearthland Foundation), Pat Oleszko (MacDowell Fellow), and Katie Sonnenborn (Co-Director of Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture) will reflect on the future of these vital institutions and the role they play in shaping artistic practice today.
