An artist talk that brings together Alissa Alfonso, Jen Clay, Beck Lowry, and Kelly Tapia-Chuning moderated by Charlotte Grussing exploring themes of intuition, touch, textiles, and the hierarchy of the senses. Centering on the idea that vision is often privileged, the conversation considers how textiles uniquely evoke a premonition of touch—allowing viewers to anticipate how something might feel before physical contact. The talk will also reflect on the inherently accessible and intuitive nature of textiles, and how these materials can foster a sense of warmth, familiarity, and welcome.
